Kevin arrived promptly and the app was accurate in terms of timings. He was friendly and talked through the possible issues (whilst not making me feel bad for forgetting to check the oil levels in my car!). Took for test drive to ensure felt ok to go onward journey & gave honest advice for future.

Great

The initial Phone call was recieved by a very helpful member of staff who gave clear instructions on what to do next. When Daniel (64850) arrived he was pleasant knowledgeable and helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we got home with no further problems. All in all a fantastic service from start to finish

My Fathers car broke down

My Fathers car broke down, on 22/08/24 after reporting online, the Rac called within 10 minutes as lucky he was in the area.
The gentleman arrived at our destination within 30 minutes he, replaced the battery. He was very polite and friendly. Sorry I can’t remember the mechanics name .

Your patrol man Glen attended my…

Your patrol man Glen attended my breakdown due to a battery issue. I was unable to start my car.
Glen had a cheerful manner and put me at ease. He was very thorough and communicated what he was doing and checking through out the time, until he got me going again. I needed a replacement battery, which was covered by my membership.

Bank Holiday break down

We didn't have to waiting considering it was on Bank Holiday. Aled ( patrol no: 64997) was brilliant, my brake lever broke on my motorbike and I honestly thought it would need to be pick up by flat bed lorry. Aled managed to re attach the lever and I was able to ride back home . Can fault him at all very professional and friendly Thank you so much Aled you saved our last day of hoilday.

Incredible renewal price increase

Received renewal offer for my house insured by RAC. Amount went from 402 to 720GBP without claim, a staggering 79% increase. Obviously, when you receive this joke offer, well you just reply with the middle finger and go shopping somewhere else.

On 24th August 2024, my car wouldn't start while on a short shopping trip , the weather was typically English summer n pouring with rain , I contacted the Rac , so helpful on the initial call, n kept me updated by text. the eta was incredible, and then received a call from the patrolman, Mr Matambanashe, (65466), he was very pleasant, helpful n said he was on his way. he arrived, very professional, informative, and went through his checking of my problem, and quickly sorted it . i can't praise this guy enough . thank you sir.

Cooling off period is non existent.

3 hour wait after paying £160 upfront. Car wasn’t fixable at the roadside. They had a very limited list of garages to take it to.
I cancelled my policy within the 14 day period and was told explicitly I’d be refunded all the money but I only recieved £15. Amature organisation cosplaying as the best.

Calm, supportive, child centric

Russell, patrol ID 64180 was brilliant in every way. Really calm and comforting, great with the kids and put all of our minds at ease it what was a pretty tricky situation on the side of a busy motorway. Russell then went the extra mile to ensure we got home safely and recognised the importance of getting home for the kids.

Superb customer service

Once I'd raised the call with RAC I was lucky enough to have a patrol car nearby so was he was with me within 20 mins. Absolutely great guy, Jonathan ID 56537 was fantastic, got the car going straight away and made sure all was fine before leaving. Not often you have a laugh and good chat with people you don't really know but just shows how good Jonathan is with his customers and to great to get along with. He's a great asset to the company, that's for sure. Thanks Jonathan, hopefully it will be you next time, although I hope that isn't anytime soon, lol.

Not very good for older members who don't use apps.

I liked the excellent service given by the RAC mechanic. I hated not being able to contact the RAC by phone and found the App less than helpful and very stressful. It appears the RAC think all their members are young and used to using their mobile phone on the internet to do just about everything. My wife, who had broken down on her own, was in tears on the phone, desperate for me to tell her how to contact the RAC after she'd phoned them and only got a recorded message telling her to use the app. She was phoning them because she didn't know how to use the app. I wasn't much help but fortunately she eventually managed to make online contact.

This was a no hassle breakdown

This was a no hassle breakdown, instant phone response and the details given me allowed me to know who and when I would have attending to get me back on the road. Jeremy ID 65161 contacted me as soon as he was allocated the job and I was able to track him and know accurately when he would be attending. He was polite, courteous and made a swift diagnosis that I needed a battery replacement. He quoted for a replacement battery and I accepted the quote. He made the replacement and my vehicle was very quickly up and running. A very satisfactory outcome thank you.

Motorway breakdown

Had a breakdown coming back from Creamfields festival on the M56, before you join the M6. Being broken down is one of my worst fears, let alone breaking down on a motorway! Andrew (64063) came promptly once we managed to book our breakdown, and he was great. Managed to get us moving in a matter of 10 minutes. A big thank you to Andrew!

Non-Warranty Incidents
While Dacia Assistance aims to provide you with peace of mind motoring, it only provides assistance for manufacturer based or mechanical faults on the Vehicle. It does not provide assistance for certain non-warranty incidents such as (but not limited to):

The use of incorrect fuel or lack of fuel
Wheel changes, punctured tyres, damage to wheels or tyres
Keys locked inside the vehicle, lost or stolen
Road traffic accidents • Incidents involving trailers and caravans

This is crazy for a new car warranty - BE WARNED.

They use the RAC but they'll charge you for a flat tyre + time and distance - VERY EXPENSIVE
Best paying a cheaper breakdown company for these cons.

Nobody likes to break down

Nobody likes to break down. However I'd you do the experience I had with the rac is what you need.
Paul was out within 20 mins and diagnosed the problem. (Bad injector connector)
Although he didn't carry the spare required he did get me going and gave me the confidence to be able to carry out temporary repairs to get me and my family home.
Perfect service from the rac.

I am a renewed member with over 30 years with RAC. After one call out experience with GF I have rejoined the RAC and cancelled my GF membership. You never appreciate what you had until it's gone I guess. RAC response times were too long .

Excellent experience!

I got a tyre puncture on the motor way on a drive to Dorset and was rescued by lovely David, patrol ID 58425. He arrived swiftly (within 20 mins) and was able to temporarily fix the problem so I could continue the drive safely. He was extremely professional and gave me advice as to what to do next. He saved the day!!

When he did get to my location he sorted out my problem and was professional and knowledgeable in what had to be done such a great asset to the company

Go Slow No Show RAC

Car wouldn't start last Thursday, reported it via the app at 11am. Patrol turned up at 3pm but couldn't fix it advised they'd arrange a flat bed recovery truck. They messaged me and I advised to recover on Monday 2nd September and they confirmed it was booked for 8am-12am. Waited all day no updates all day except to say they were busy. Phoned at 4pm, after 20 minute wait spoke to agent who couldn't confirm arrival time, so had to cancel as garage closed at 5pm and arranged to recover tomorrow 3rd September between 8-12am. I'm not holding my breath!! Have the RAC only got one breakdown van and only one flatbed recovery truck for whole of South East. Terrible service
